Wood comes from trees.
Oak was used a lot for house building. It grows in a twisted fashion which
makes it strong.
Trees were chopped down then sawn into timbers which were joined together
to build the framework for houses like Blakesley Hall. Oak trees were the
best, and came from the local woodlands.
