3D Level 3

Characteristics

Pupils engage in extended activities through different stages.
Their increased control means they can work more independently with a wider range of materials.
Based on their developing experience and understanding, they will require less support when selecting materials and tools for a particular effect.

3D Projects

The pupils examined masks from around the world and made studies in sketchbooks of their preferences. They made expressive masks using strips of card and found objects on a base board. These were covered with paint mixed with glue and details were added using brighter colours.

The pupils explored fantasy and mythological beasts and made their own versions using galvanised wire and paper covered with tissue paper and glue.
They controlled the wire and paper effectively and used it to construct the forms they wanted.
Ideas were discussed at the beginning and adapted and developed as the pupils engaged in the making process. The pupils commented on the similarities and differences between their own and others’ work throughout the project.
