Cubism

The pupils discussed the work of Pablo Picasso during his Cubist period. They made drawings of each other from different positions and combined two or more to make a composite image.
They developed their designs by using colour and shading to enhance the feeling of ambiguity.

These pupils analysed and understood Picasso’s approach and technique well. They used this knowledge to create very effective images based on first hand observation. They chose materials and techniques which suited the subject and  adapted and refined their work as they went along.
