They can talk about what they are doing using an appropriate vocabulary.
They understand why and where artists and designers use ICT.

ICT Projects

As part of a project looking at how artists had represented landscape pupils explored “Nichols Canyon” by David Hockney. They looked at the artists use of line pattern and colour to represent texture and form. Based on this information they drew their own landscapes on the computer. These  pupils have used ICT tools effectively to draw strong images. They understood and appreciated why the artist worked as he did and adapted his style to suit their intentions. They learned about the artists life and understood how his landscape work differed from other artists.

Pupils explored the collage work of Henri Matisse.
They selected images they could use to develop as repeat patterns.
They used “cut and paste” and repeat functions on a computer to produce their final image.

These pupils chose images with visual qualities suitable for developing as a repeat design.

They used the computer tools to produce an effective repeat pattern.
In the process they have learned about the collage work of Matisse  on the internet.
