Printing Level 1

Characteristics

Children use found objects and basic tools and equipment to make patterns and images for different purposes. They talk about how they did their work and describe how it makes them feel.

Print Project

This child used found materials such as nail brushes, potato mashers and sponges to make a representation of an animal. This type of image is called a ‘mono print’. The child has controlled the process and the lions face is positioned appropriately. There is a strong sense of proportion and the tools have been used expressively.
