Textile Projects This wall hanging was produced during an arts week. It involved the children working with an artist in residence to celebrate the school anniversary. They all responded enthusiastically to the project. They used pieces of scrap materials to make fantasy creatures. The individual pieces show skill and confidence in selecting, cutting and gluing materials to produce lively creatures with a strong feeling of pattern, colour and shape. Other found objects have been used to suggest additional details like eyes and ears.
The
children made drawings of pot plants. They reproduced these as
fabric collages using a range of interesting scrap materials. This
child made an effective selection of materials which combine to
produce a strong pattern with a variety of textures. They
learned how the impact and effect of an image can be changed by
using different materials
