EARP (Essex Action Research Project) was a collaborative initiative with a group of schools representing all the key stages.
Essex School Improvement and Early Years service, through the work of curriculum and school advisers, provided the co-ordination, overview and direction. The full report is reproduced here for reference.

Essex Educational Psychology Service Research Review
This Research Review summarises sources of data with regard to the current national picture and relevant research relating to factors affecting the attainment of boys before detailing effective interventions highlighted in the research for narrowing the gap for under-achieving boys.
